At City Point Church, our beliefs are grounded in the authority of Scripture and centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe God reveals Himself through His Word and invites us into a transforming relationship with Him—one that shapes every part of life.
HUMANITY
We believe humanity was created in the image of God, designed for relationship and fellowship with Him. God created people with free will, and through humanity’s choices, sin entered the world, bringing separation between God and mankind.
As a result, every person is born with a sinful nature and, by choice, falls short of God’s perfect standard. Because God is holy and without sin, we are unable to restore our relationship with Him through our own efforts, good works, or morality. We are completely dependent on God’s grace for redemption and restoration.
ETERNITY
We believe every person was created to exist forever. Eternity is spent in one of two realities: eternal separation from God because of sin, or eternal life in union with God through His forgiveness and salvation.
Hell is the eternal separation from the presence of God, while heaven is eternal life in the presence of God. God’s desire is that all would come to repentance and experience everlasting life with Him.
SALVATION
We believe salvation is a free gift from God, made available to all through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. No amount of good works, self-improvement, or religious effort can remove sin or restore our relationship with God.
Salvation comes only by grace, through faith, as we place our trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. When a person receives Christ by faith, they are forgiven, made new, and given eternal life. Eternal life begins the moment a person places their faith in Jesus.
ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe salvation is secure because it is the work of God, not the result of human effort. Eternal life is given through Jesus Christ and is sustained by the grace and power of God.
The believer’s security rests in God’s faithfulness, not personal performance. Salvation is maintained by faith in Christ and His finished work, bringing confidence and assurance in our relationship with Him.
WATER BAPTISM
We believe that all who repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ are called to be baptized by immersion (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is a public declaration of faith and an outward expression of an inward transformation.
Through baptism, believers identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, declaring that they have died to sin and have been raised to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4). We baptize by full immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
HOLY COMMUNION
We believe communion, or the Lord’s Table, was instituted by Jesus for believers. The bread and the cup symbolize the body and blood of Christ, given for our salvation.
Communion is a sacred remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and a celebration of the forgiveness and new life we have in Him. It is also a moment of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual renewal for the believer.
EVERYONE has a seat at our table, only JESUS decides what’s being SERVED.
THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an empowering experience for believers, as described in Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:4. This baptism equips followers of Jesus to live boldly, serve effectively, and witness powerfully.
We believe the Holy Spirit continues to distribute spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues and other manifestations, for the building up of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
THE CHURCH & IT'S MISSION
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ and His representative on the earth. The Church exists to glorify God and to carry out the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations.
Through worship, discipleship, community, and mission, the Church reflects the heart of Jesus and proclaims the Gospel to the world.
THE MINISTRY
We believe God calls and equips ministers who are biblically qualified and spiritually gifted to lead the Church. These leaders are entrusted with guiding the Church in worship, teaching, evangelism, discipleship, and care for the Body of Christ.
God’s design for ministry is to build up believers and equip them to live out their purpose as followers of Jesus.
DIVINE HEALING
We believe divine healing is available today and was provided through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. God continues to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually according to His will and power.
We believe in praying in faith for healing, trusting God as our Healer, and surrendering to His perfect purposes.
